Adele

AdeleAdkins was the daughter of a single mother of just a few years born in a variety of working-class London neighbourhoods. She was a lover of contemporary pop music as a child and was capable of playing the clarinet and guitar. It wasn't until her early teens, when she began to discover rhythm-and-blues singer Etta James and other mid-20th-century performers that she began to think about pursuing a career in music. When she was in a secondary school for performing arts funded by the federal government when a friend began uploading songs Adkins had composed on Myspace. Her music soon caught the attention of record labels and in 2006, shortly after her graduation she signed a contract with XL Recordings.
